Nora Hendryks- I stepped completely out of my very comfortable comfort zone

Originally from San Jose, California, Nora has lived and worked in San Francisco, London and New York City.  She brings a fresh and innovative perspective to everything I touch, and approach every challenge with positivity and pragmatic creativity.

++What is one piece of advice a mentor told you that's stuck with you?

In business - Maria Cimadamore - an amazing leader who taught me to see the value of my contribution to the big picture; In life - Connie Hendrycks - the best role model for being a strong and compassionate woman - she taught me to believe in myself and not be afraid of a challenge.

++Name a time that you pivoted in your career?

At the end of 2016, I stepped completely out of my very comfortable comfort zone leaving a 25+ year career in the financial services industry to bring a unique idea to fruition.

++How did it change your personal life?

It has given me a sense of purpose (for lack of coming up with the right word) actually bringing something meaningful and transformative directly to people in my community.  I actually work more than when I had a “real job” and getting my mind to stop thinking/worrying about the business is sometimes hard, but I love it.

++What advice can you offer the next generation of working women ? BET ON YOURSELF! don’t listen to anyone who tells you that you are not good enough, or that you can’t pursue your dreams.  it may not happen overnight, be patient, and NEVER give up on yourself.
++What's one word that describes your career up to this point——-what-if? What it means….when I was deciding something big, I never wanted to look back and ask with regret “what if” i had done something.  i.e. if I didn’t take the job in London, would I at some point kick myself and ask “what if I had taken that job?”

Nora's Mantra: it doesn’t get easier, YOU just get stronger!
