Mary Beth LaRue - Build your business one person at a time- THE PURPOSEFUL PIVOT PROJECT

Mary Beth LaRue is a yoga teacher, mentor and the co-founder of Rock Your Bliss! I've met MB over Zoom on several Rock Your Bliss Level 1 and 2. She's ethereal and grounded all at once. We are seemingly different but deep down we both love organization and checking out new coffee shops. She and her husband are foster parents and foster adoption advocates. Oh and she has killer eyebrows!

What is one piece of advice a mentor told you that's stuck with you?

That you build your business one person at a time. So if you start teaching yoga and there’s one person in class you give them your full attention and presence. Your career and legacy is built relationship by relationship.

Name a time that you pivoted in your career?

For a long time I only did what felt comfortable. I made a big shift about three years ago and started teaching and speaking in front of large groups of people and doing it in away that felt very vulnerable. I’d always been able to access that vulnerability in writing but not so much in presenting. It changed my life and my career for sure.

How did it change your life and where you are today at work and home?

I feel very fulfilled in both aspects of my life even though life is very full. I am getting better at saying no to things that don’t feel right, even if they are “big” opportunities. Then I have plenty of room for my hell yes.

What advice can you offer the next generation of working women just leaving college?

To spend time getting quiet and listening to what you need and want. You can read all the self help books, hire all the teachers but unless you listen in you won’t be leading from your soul space. And that’s where the magic happens!

Last question. Answer it 'rapid fire' style, the first thing that comes to mind! ------>>>>>What's one word that describes your career up to this point——-Intuitive
